Dear Students and Families,
Welcome back to school! Hopefully everyone has had a restful and relaxing summer, and is now ready to get to work.
This is my fourth year at Beverly J. Martin. I am excited to be a part of the BJM community, and I cannot wait to meet all of you.
The first day of school is Wednesday, September 7th.
The building will be open to students and I will be in the classroom by 7:40, so feel free to drop your child off. Instruction will start promptly at 8:00 a.m., therefore, it is vital that students are settled in by 7:55, so they are ready to begin their learning.
Since I feel that support from the home is the most important part of your child’s education, I welcome comments, questions and even criticism at any time. Please feel free to write me a note, call me or come and visit whenever you have a chance. Our classroom door is always open (just remember to sign in at the main office).
In order to facilitate this communication we will be using a Home/School Notebook this year. At the end of each school day your child will write down his/her homework and each night at home he/she will show this notebook to an adult at home and ask for a signature verifying that the homework was indeed done. I will provide this notebook to your child on the first day of school. Feel free to use it for anything you need to say to me, and I will do the same.
